About Me...
I am, first of all, a Christian. I say this right up front
because I want to give God all the glory for all my
success as a photographer. I am a mom of four
beautiful children and I was married 11 years this
March to the greatest Mann on the planet! I
started taking pictures in high school in 1994, when
I borrowed a fully manual SLR camera from my
grandpa to do a science fair project. After that I started taking pictures of flowers
and animals whenever I had an opportunity. It wasn't until I had my first child at the
end of 1998 that I realized how much I loved taking pictures of children. I met a
professional photographer in Stillwater, and bought an old manual SLR from him. I
played around with his camera for a while. When we realized that I was actually
pretty good at taking pictures, we invested in a Canon Rebel. I had so much fun
learning how to use that camera. In 2001 we moved to Dewey and I quickly made
some friends. They started asking me to take pictures of their kids, and then it got to
the point that they were saying I needed a price list. With my friends' and my
husband's encouragement we made up a price list, and by word of mouth, my
business started to grow. In September of 2004 we invested in a Canon 20D, and
that is the camera I use today. I love being completely digital, even though I was a
little reluctant about it at first. My pictures are even sharper then they were with film.
January 2006 we invested in a Photogenic light kit, and now I can take pictures with
full studio lighting. Since then we have purchased a backdrop stand, several
backdrops and props, making the need for a studio apparent.
In April 2007, we bought our first home. The main reason we chose the home was
because it had a huge front room that we converted into a studio for my business.
